Alanya is a pearl in the Mediterranean and a favorite destination for many people from all over the world. This is due to the inviting beaches, hospitality, an abundance of history and a wonderful atmosphere.

The known history of Alanya is M.He. it dates back to 1400 years and the city was influenced by, among others, the Greeks, the Romans, the pirates and, finally, the Ottomans, who conquered the city in 1471. The oldest known name is Coracesium. It is believed that it consists of the Latin words corax (rock) and cesium (sky).

Alanya is also known as the city of Cleopatra, M.He. in 41, the Roman emperor Antony gave it to Queen Cleopatra as a wedding gift after their honeymoon together in the city. The rough and rocky sand on the coast caused Emperor Antony to send his ships to Egypt and bring the best sand to Alanya.

On the beach, you can see the Red Tower, which is considered one of the most important symbols of Alanya and was built in 1226. From the tower it is possible to enjoy a beautiful view of the harbor. In the same location, you can also visit the ethnological museum under the building.

Just a few kilometers from the city center of Alanya, you can visit the ancient castle, which is located on a huge cliff 250 meters above the water and offers beautiful views of the city, the Taurus mountains and the azure Mediterranean Sea. The climate of Alanya is a Mediterranean city with dry and hot summers, sunny 300 days a year, warm and rainy winters. June July and August averages between 25 and 35 degrees Dec and temperatures around 10-12 degrees can be expected in winter.
